Franciscan Ministries, Inc. (FMI), was incorporated in 1983 as the holding company for Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare's housing entities. FMI operates more than 2,500 units of affordable housing in Colorado, Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin. The organization concentrates on communities where housing is needed for low-income families, the elderly and residents with special needs. Housing ranges from independent living to assisted living. FMI builds bridges to other community services to assist residents with their unmet needs.
